Detailed introduction

Reinhardtius Hippoglossoides is a kind of flatfish which lives on the bottom of the Arctic Ocean at the depth of 250-2000 meters. It is generally called Alaskan flatfish and Greenland flatfish in the domestic market.

Don't think it's called Greenland Flounder. It's only Greenland. It's found in the northern and eastern parts of the North Pacific and Atlantic, from the eastern Atlantic, from England to Norway, Iceland and Eastern Greenland. Elsewhere, from Newfoundland to the Pacific Ocean in the northwest and north of Greenland (Sea of Japan, Sea of Okhotsk, Sea of Bering, North America from the Pacific coast of Mexico).

These names refer to the same fish stock, the Alaskan flounder that grows in the Pacific Gulf of Alaska and the Greenland flounder that grows in the waters off Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Newfoundland in the North Atlantic.

Large flatfish are produced in many seas, but the flesh, taste and nutrition of large flatfish that live on the bottom of the Cold Zone ocean are quite different from those of other seas.

Greenland flounders live in extremely cold environments, but they are still active hunters on the seafloor, feeding on shrimp, cod, rock fish, octopus and other species. The cold environment makes flounder grow slowly, so it accumulates abundant nutrition. The pure water quality of the Cold Zone ocean bottom keeps flounder healthy and fresh quality. The abundant food sources make flounder meat delicate, mild and delicious. Alaska deep-sea fish oil is mainly extracted from such fish.
